FAQs

Please find some of the most Frequently Asked Questions below.

What is the difference between precious and semi-precious stones? And what does Lauren Sigman Collection use?

The term "semi-precious" is somewhat misleading as it suggests that some gemstones have inferior value. Years ago, most people considered ruby, emerald and sapphire as the "precious" gemstones, and all others as "semi-precious." In truth, all natural colored gemstones are rare and precious, and their prices are determined by the availability and quality of the gemstone. At LSC, we hand select each and every gemstone that goes into our private collection pieces, and with our collection or the designers we represent, we will always specify in the description the gemstone used in each piece.

However, many of our items are made to order and some pieces can take up to 4 weeks to ship. We will let you know when your order is placed when shipping will occur. We’ll always do our best to accommodate you.

How should I care for my LSC fine jewelry?

We hope you love your Lauren Sigman Collection. To care for your pieces so they will last forever please think about the following:

Our fine jewelry is made with 14K, 18K, or Sterling Silver depending on the piece you purchase. Moisture, lotions, perfumes, chlorine, household cleaning agents, and salts are just few of the many things that can harm your jewelry. Please avoid them. Cleaning your jewelry regularly will help keep it looking brand new. Do not use any abrasive brushes as this will cause scratches on the metal and some gemstones. If your jewelry has stones in it, the best practice is for your stones to be checked and/or tightened by a professional jeweler at least once a year. If you ever hear your stone clicking, or when you tap your stone it moves, it is loose in its setting and should be taken to a jeweler immediately.

Always protect your jewelry in our special Lauren Sigman Collection custom pouches and store them in a safe place. This will help prevent scratches and tangling.

What do I do if I don't know my ring size?

Best thing to do is to stop into your local jewelry store and ask them to measure your finger. Most of our rings can be sized if you want to take an educated guess but some of our rings are eternity bands and difficult to size when set. If you’re ordering this type of ring, we want to get it right the first time.
